Paul Morris is a leading Australian furniture designer and received an Australian Design Award in 2004 for his bold redesign of the humble filing cabinet. His furniture design is informed by the skills he developed when studying metallurgy, marine archaeology and antique conservation. His products are recognised for their refined aesthetic and functionality.
As the design director of Join, Paul has a commitment to produce timeless, high calibre design, in a deceptively simple and beautifully executed form. To do this, the company maintains a strong emphasis on materials research, combined with innovative, efficient manufacturing solutions that do not compromise attention to detail and finish.
An innovative design collaboration between join + ALLOY in 1999 resulted in the development of a number of contemporary pieces that reflect both companies’ total commitment to developing a seamless design and manufacturing culture, including the deck indoor and deck outdoor timber and stainless steel tables as well as a series of custom designed and manufactured contemporary pieces for commercial and domestic applications.
