Brass Tiles
After the Copper (Chalcolithic) Age came the Bronze
Age, followed later by the Iron Age, there was no
'Brass Age' because, for many years, it was not easy
to make brass. However with the advent of high tech
furnaces the amalgamation of the Alloys copper and
zinc are successfully melted together at the optimum
temperatures to produce Brass.
Brass mosaics are a brilliant golden yellow tile
(surface lacquer can be applied to preserve this look),
that can be used indoors and outdoors. Atmospheric
exposure of the brass tiles results in the development
of a superficial tarnish film or the formation of
a thin protective green "patina" which,
in itself, becomes a striking feature. The brass tiles,
however, will retain their original integrity for
a lifetime.
